Is the roof inspection really free?
Yes. The inspection is free and there is no obligation. We typically get out within two weeks, and you don't need to be home for it.
Will my insurance premium go up if I file a claim?
Filing a claim for storm damage does not change your premium. That is set by your insurer, not by us.
Does insurance cover a new roof?
Sometimes. Storm damage often is a covered loss. A roof that is simply worn out usually is not. Old isn't the same as damaged, and the free inspection tells you which one you have.
What will it cost me if the claim is approved?
If your roof is a covered loss, the only out-of-pocket expense to you is your homeowner's deductible.
Do you decide whether my claim gets approved?
No. We're roofers, not your insurer. Your insurance company sends their own adjuster and the decision is always theirs. A claim cannot and will not be made without your insurance adjuster's approval.
How does the claim process actually work?
Six steps. Free inspection, then with your approval we contact your insurer to file. Their adjuster inspects and we're there with our documentation. If it's a covered loss they approve it and issue compensation, sometimes in installments. Then we review shingle options with you and schedule the work.
Why does my mortgage company need to sign the check?
On most insurance payouts the mortgage holder is named on the check and has to endorse it. It's normal and we'll walk you through it.
